Governor Markell Defends Record at Town Hall Meeting

official photo

Governor Jack Markell told a group of Delaware taxpayers last night in Lewes that he would not suspend the prevailing-wage laws or back out of incentive agreements with companies like Bloom Energy.

The Wilmington News Journalreports that improving the education system will boost the labor pool for local businesses.

As for the incentive agreements Markell hailed the plan by the poultry conglomerate Allen Harim to turn a shuttered pickle factory into a chicken processing plant.

The 80 minute town hall at the Cape Henlopen High School is the second of three such forums and he took around 15 questions from the audience.
