AG Gansler Kicks Off Campaign for Governor, Rival Gets Another Endorsement

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) - Attorney General Doug Gansler is launching a 17-stop tour in his campaign for governor.

It's starting on Tuesday in Rockville and continues in Ellicott City and Baltimore later in the day.

He is scheduled to make other stops across the state over the next week.

Gansler is seeking the Democratic nomination for governor. He is running against Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and Del. Heather Mizeur for the nomination.

Endorsements

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Rep. John Sarbanes is endorsing Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown for governor.

The congressman announced the endorsement on Monday for Brown, who is seeking the Democratic nomination.

Sarbanes joins three other members of Maryland's eight members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Reps. Steny Hoyer, Elijah Cummings and Donna Edwards also have endorses Brown.

Sen. Barbara Mikulski announced her endorsement for Brown on Sunday.

Sarbanes' district includes parts of Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard and Montgomery counties, as well as parts of the city of Baltimore.
