Peace Protesters Relieved Over Syrian Deal

The cars honked in support of a handful of peace activists on Route 13 out in front of Salisbury University.

The demonstration is a regular one held by the Peace Alliance of the Lower Shore.

This Sunday was especially significant with news that a deal was being worked out that could avoid a US military strike against Syria over its government’s alleged use of chemical weapons in its fight against rebels.

Jackie Fritch, one of the coordinators for the group said she was pleased with the news:.

"Oh gosh, yes, I was just so grateful to hear that. "It would be such a mistake for us to become involved in yet another conflict.  I just don't see how, I think personally...we think we can go into other countries to fit out pattern we wished we could."
