Doug Gansler To Kick Off Campaign, Anthony Brown Formally Files

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) - Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler is announcing plans to officially launch his run for governor.

Gansler's campaign announced Thursday he will start a statewide tour beginning on Sept. 24 with events in Rockville, Ellicott City and Baltimore.

After that, he will be making stops all around the state.

Gansler will be in southern Maryland on Sept. 25. He then heads to western Maryland the day after that. He also will be campaigning on the Eastern Shore on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

Gansler has long been talking about plans to seek the Democratic nomination for governor. He has held forums around the state to discuss some of his initial plans.

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown also is seeking the nomination. Delegate Heather Mizeur also is in the race.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown is making his run for governor official.

Brown, a Democrat, is scheduled to file his candidacy at the Maryland State Board of Elections in Annapolis on Friday. His running mate, Ken Ulman, is scheduled to join him at the board.

Delegate Heather Mizeur also is running for the Democratic nomination for governor.
