Famed Political Reporter Jack Germond Dies

Book Cover

A veteran of the Baltimore Evening Sun and one of the greats of American journalism has passed from the scene.

Jack Germond, who covered American politics for a half a century, died at the age of 85 yesterday.

Known as being somewhat cantankerous he worked with Jules Witcover at the Washington Star and the Baltimore Evening sun.

Witcover said that Germond had “an old fashioned relationship with politicians”.

He said the journalist liked them but did not stray from being critical of them when they did bad things.

Germond retired to a home in West Virginia.

But, the veteran journalist will be heard from just one more time.

His first novel – “A Small Story for Page Three” is about an investigative reporter…set to be published on Friday.
