Beach Replenishment Underway in Fenwick Island

ecodelaware.com

FENWICK ISLAND, Del. (AP) - Beach restoration work has begun in Delaware to reverse damage from Superstorm Sandy.

WMDT-TV reports that crews were out in Fenwick Island on Sunday, working on the $19.3 million restoration effort.  Work is expected to take three to four weeks before crews move to Bethany, Dewey, and Rehoboth.

The entire project is expected to be completed by mid-December.  Federal aid from the more than $60 billion Sandy recovery package will pay for the restoration.
