The only freshwater swimming area in Kent County, Delaware, has been temporarily closed.
Earlier this week state official found bacteria levels that were too high for people at Lake Como in Smyrna and shut it down on Tuesday.
Smyrna town manager David Hugg told WBOC that it was the hot weather that probably led to the closure.
He emphasized that this was not a continuing problem but rather occurs occasionally.
Hugg said he expects the lake to reopen by the end of the week.
