Expectations Rise for New Laurel High School

Becker Morgan Group

A brand new $74 million structure is going up to replace aging Laurel High School in Delaware.

The new facility is set to be open for the 2014 school year.

It will have multiple wings with one for the high school and another for the middle school.

The two facilities will share a cafeteria and gymnasium.

The town of Laurel is putting up the most of the money for the project with the state of Delaware coming up with the rest.

Scanning the old facility Stephan Perdue, a student at Laurel High, told WBOC that the old building was not in good shape, with falling tiles, leaks and the absence of windows.
