UD Tuition Hike, Lowest in Decade

Don Rush

There will be another increase in tuition this fall for students at the University of Delaware.

But for in-state undergraduate students…the hike of 3.7 percent or around $430 will be the lowest in a decade.

Last year the increase amounted for 4.4 percent.

Out-of-state students will see an increase of $1,150.

UD President Patrick Harker said the university was trying to keep higher education affordable for in-state students.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the increase for in-state undergraduate students will still mean a price tag of just over $12-thousand.

For out-of-state students it will still be nearly $30-thousand.

The price of housing and meal on campus does vary but the typical cost for a year would bring another $11-thousand.
