DOVER, Del. (AP) - Officials in Delaware say they're going to increase their presence along Delaware's waterways this weekend to crack down on operators who operate boats while drunk.
The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control says that beginning Friday and continuing through Sunday, officials will participate in "Operation Dry Water."
The nationwide event is aimed at preventing alcohol and drug-related boating accidents and fatalities.
During last year's "Operation Dry Water" in Delaware, four boat operators were arrested for operating under the influence. Anyone operating a boat with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher is breaking Delaware and federal laws and can be fined and face potential jail time.
