PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore says its doctor of pharmacy program has earned full accreditation.
The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education announced the accreditation on Wednesday. UMES enrolled its first class of pharmacy students in 2010 and awarded 57 doctorates in May.
Dr. Nicholas Blanchard is the founding dean of the UMES School of Pharmacy. He tells WBOC-TV that getting accreditation is a significant achievement.
The ACPE accredits doctor of pharmacy programs at colleges and schools of pharmacy in the United States and some foreign programs.
