The Firefly Music Festival wrapped up its second year last night in Dover where Los Angeles rockers Foster the People took the stage with its only hit ”Pumped Up Kicks and long with a few new songs.
And, the second time around for the festival on the surrounding grounds of the dover International Speedway was considered a success.
But there were some gripes.
The Wilmington News Journal reports these ranged from Friday’s traffic jams and the long walks from stage to stage to some VIP ticket-holders who could not get onto the at-capacity elevated viewing areas.
But the paper says that despite some of the problems the some 65-thousand attendees appeared to enjoy the three-day event.
And many said they would return.
Dew Tour
With temperatures in the 70’s the 2013 Dew tour was deemed a success this weekend with an enthusiastic Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan taking his bike onto the Boardwalk.
He said he expect the event will be returning to the resort for a fourth time next year.
And, Kenny Mitchell, the general manager of the Dew Tour, told the Salisbury Daily Times that he deemed the event “a huge success.”
NBC Sports broadcast more than 30 hours of live coverage including highlights of Ocean City attractions.
Among the highlights for locals was Bucky Lasek who won the Skate Vert final to big and enthusiastic crowds.
There were no injuries reported from the competitions.
And as of Sunday Ocean City police said there were no serious problems.
