Two Somerset County School Board Members Under Attack

somerset county school district website

The group, Concerned Citizens for the Advancement of Somerset County, says it wants its voice heard before going to officials at Maryland State Department of Education.

Garland Hayward, a member of the organization, told the Salisbury daily times…that the school board is not doing things properly.

He says the board has failed to respond to requests for a meeting with the group.

They charge that two of the board members are not acting professionally or ethically.

Hayward and the Concerned Citizens have sparred verbally with board members Dan Kuebler and Robert Wells as well as with those who have criticized Washington High School Principal William Johnson and tudent behavior at the county’s largest high school in Princess Anne.

The group wants the two reprimanded or even dismissed charging the they have created a conflict of interest in bypassing the full board to express concerns publicly about the principal William Johnson and the school’s social climate.

For his part Johnson has called for an apology from Kuebler and Wells saying their comments were unfounded.
