RISING SUN, Md. (AP) - A zoo in Maryland is raising money for an intern from Delaware who was struck by lightning last week.

WDEL-AM reports that the Plumpton Park Zoo in Rising Sun, Md., is running an online fundraiser for 19-year-old Haley Embleton of Milford.

The zoo is collecting donations for Embleton through the website FundRazr.

On its fundraiser webpage, the zoo says the University of Delaware student was hospitalized and in a coma for several days after being struck by lightning while working at the zoo. The zoo says it is collecting funds to help Embleton as she recovers and to help cover books and tuition when she heads back for her second year at University of Delaware this fall.
