Ruddertowne Development Overcomes High Court Legal Hurdle

Ruddertowneusa.com

It’s too late to get a hearing.

That’s the ruling by Delaware Supreme Court who dismissed a lawsuit by opponents of the Ruddertowne development in Dewey Beach.

The decision allows Dewey Beach Enterprises to move ahead with its building permits for the project renamed Lighthouse Cove Dewey Beach without worrying about anymore legal issues.

After seven years of controversy the developer hopes to open a Hyatt Place Hotel this summer.

The Wilmington News Journalreports that construction on the first phase of the property’s makeover is just about done adding a 108-room Hotel and 16 high-priced condominiums along Coastal Highway.

But Dewey Beach officials who backed the development questioned whether the four story project would be ready to be occupied by the developer’s timetable.
