COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) - Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown has picked Howard County Executive Ken Ulman as a running mate in his bid for the Democratic nomination for governor.
Brown made the announcement Monday at the Columbia lakefront.
Ulman had been considering a run for governor in 2014 himself.

Meanwhile, Republican David Craig has officially announced his bid to run for governor of Maryland.
The Harford County executive said Monday that the Democratic monopoly in state government has hurt Maryland, citing a list of tax increases and fees in recent years as an example.
Craig made the announcement in Havre de Grace near his home.
Craig says he would like to reduce the state's 6 percent sales to "at least 5 percent." He also says he would like to eliminate the tax on inheritance. He also says, if he is elected, he would like to explore consolidating state agencies to streamline government.
