Delaware
DOVER, Del. (AP) - Parents of children killed in the December mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut are urging Delaware lawmakers to pass new gun control measures.
Parents of three children killed at Sandy Hook planned to meet with Gov. Jack Markell on Tuesday in Dover.
Sandy Hook Promise, a nonprofit organization created by Newtown, Conn., residents after the shootings, also is coordinating meetings with legislators.
Among the measures supported by the Connecticut contingent is a bill before the state House that prohibits the manufacture, sale or unlawful possession of clips holding more than 10 bullets. They also are urging House passage of a bill that requires gun owners to report the loss or theft of a gun to police. That bill cleared the Senate by a single vote.

Maryland
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - A Montgomery County woman says she is planning a petition effort to get Maryland's gun control bill put to a popular vote.
Sue Payne tells WBAL-AM that she hopes to have a website up so voters can download and sign petitions to get the bill on next year's ballot.
Payne decided to act after opponents of the bill decided on a court challenge rather than a referendum petition.
Payne will have to submit more than 55,000 signatures to the State Board of Elections by the end of June.
Under the bill, Maryland would require people who buy a handgun to submit fingerprints to state police. The measure also bans 45 types of assault weapons.
Gov. Martin O'Malley is scheduled to sign the gun control bill into law next week.
