Antares Launches On Wallops Postponed

nasa.gov

The launch of the new Antares rocket at NASA Wallops flight facility was postponed last night because of a last minute glitch.

Around 12 minutes before launch an umbilical line on the rocket’s upper-stage fell away prematurely prompting the cancelation.

The next launch of the 13 story rocket will occur no earlier than Friday although that could be impacted by a forecast of high winds and possible thunderstorms.

Orbital Sciences Corporation is testing a dummy cargo capsule to put into orbit.

Eventually, the company will be sending supplies to the International Space Station.
