OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - A proposed ad campaign for Maryland's biggest beach resort says the government is stealing your fun.
And it urges children to beg their parents to allow them to sign a petition supporting a school year start after Labor Day.
The humorous Ocean City ad campaign didn't amuse one City Council member. Councilman Brent Ashley asked whether the campaign would amount to using advertising for political purposes. Andy Malis, president of the MGH advertising firm, told council members earlier this month that he was merely looking for a way to bring attention to the issue.
The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that Ocean City Tourism Director Donna Abbott says the Town Council will revisit this ad campaign after the close of the General Assembly's session.
