DOVER, Del. (AP) - A state panel involved in handing out millions of dollars in taxpayer money to private companies is meeting in secret to discuss collection issues.
The Delaware Council on Development Finance scheduled an executive session at its meeting Monday morning to hold what it called a "strategy session" regarding collection issues.
The council says that if the meeting were to be held in public, it would have an adverse effect on the bargaining or litigation position of the Delaware Economic Development Authority.
The council canceled a similar executive session in January after The Associated Press questioned whether the agenda met the requirements of state law for holding secret meetings.
