Pocomoke City Residents See Hike in Water Bill

cityofpocomoke.com

In Pocomoke City, around 15 percent of the town’s residents has gotten letters from the water department saying that there will be higher than average water bills sent out this year.

Officials say in some cases there are water leaks, while in other cases it is simply human error.

In addition, Pocomoke City officials say that the sudden rise in water bills is the result of inaccurate readings of the water meters going back months.

In one instance, WBOC reports, that Danielle Parks saw her water bill double from $81 to $167.

Mayor Bruce Morrison says he wants to assure residents that the city was working on the problem.
