wikipeda.org

A University of Maryland campus police officer was critically wounded yesterday during a training exercise with Baltimore police.

The officer was shot in the head by his instructor at the Rosewood Center a closed state psychiatric hospital in Owings Mills.

Officials reported it as an accident but did not give out many details including why live ammunition was being used in a training environment.

Meanwhile, the Baltimore City Police Commissioner has suspended training pending a safety evaluation.
