MILTON, Del. (AP) - Leaders of a nonprofit group say a shuttered theater in Delaware is going on the auction block.

The theater in Milton has been closed for years and is owned by an alliance of banks and financial firms. It's been previously put up for sale for $300,000, but drew no buyers.

Now, the Milton Development Corporation plans to bid at the April auction and is asking supporters to make good on their pledges.

John Chirtea, a board member of the nonprofit, tells the News Journal of Wilmington, that supporters will get their money back if the bid is unsuccessful. But he says it's important to approach the auction with cash in hand.

The building does have some mold and moisture, but supporters hope to restore it as a cultural venue.
