There was another twist in the allegations of sex abuse by a former Wicomico teacher and coach.

All four counts have been dismissed by the Wicomico County Circuit Court in a $16 million lawsuit against the Board of Education and former Wicomico High School principal Lorenzo Hughes.

Hughes is now assistant superintendent for instruction in the Dorchester County Public Schools.

Former volleyball coach Steven Kiggins pleaded guilty last year to sex abuse of a minor and is currently serving a four year prison sentence.

The suit was brought by the victim and her mother charging negligence, emotional distress and battery.

TheSalisbury Daily Times reports that court documents say emotional distress and battery claims can only be assessed against Kiggins in the suit.
