BALTIMORE (AP) - The Baltimore Ravens are being welcomed home Tuesday with a downtown parade in honor of their 34-to-31 Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers Sunday night.
Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake says the parade is to begin at City Hall in the morning, heading south on Commerce Street, continuing to Pratt and Howard streets and ended at M&T Bank Stadium.
The stadium is hosting a free celebration for fans rain or shine beginning at 12:30 p.m.
The city of Baltimore will celebrate the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens with a parade on Tuesday.
In a live interview from New Orleans on WBAL-TV, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said Sunday night that the parade will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at City Hall and end at the Ravens' stadium.
Rawlings-Blake asked people celebrating in Baltimore to stay safe, as she danced and sang with Ravens fans in New Orleans.
The Baltimore Ravens are receiving good wishes and congratulations from all corners, including from members of Maryland's congressional delegation.
Sen. Barbara Mikulski calls Baltimore a "world-class city with world-class fans" and says she's looking forward to welcoming the Ravens back and celebrating Sunday night's Super Bowl victory.
Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings says he's proud of the Ravens for winning, especially because they were underdogs and many commentators had counted them out against the San Francisco 49ers.
Both called the Super Bowl win a fitting sendoff for Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, who is retiring after 17 seasons with the team.
