Deer Firearm Season Resumes

Deer hunting season is back through next Friday for those who did not fill their tags during Maryland’s two-week firearm season last year.

They will be able to stalk their prey east of the Washington County town of Clear Spring.

The extended season will cut down on the deer population in areas that have seen damage to crops and gardens as well as car-deer accidents.

Late last year deer hunters killed 36,000 in the regular firearm season – a decline of 13% from 2011.
