sussexcountyde.gov

A new $593-thousand EMS station is coming to the Long Neck, Millsboro, Lewes,  among other communities in Sussex County and should be completed by next April.

The 13-hundred square foot facility will be located on Indian Mission Road north of Delaware Route 24 which is owned by the by county government’s department.

It will be up and running once the county leaves a rented space at the Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad.

An EMS official noted that his department has been leasing the current site for 22 years.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the county opened a Laurel paramedic station three years ago.

The station will serve one of the fastest growing counties in the county with the Long Neck population growing by 21 percent over the last 10 years while Millsboro’s population rose by 33 percent.
