A Reality Show to Come to Crisfield

gareth malone, garethmalone.com

There’s a bright spot on the horizon for the residents of Crisfield who have been coping with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

The American version of the British reality show “The Choir” was out scouting for local talent last month.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the show which airs on the BBC is about choral director Gareth Malone as he goes about creating choirs in unusual places.

Shed Media which is producing the American version said that each episode focuses on a unique group.

Meghan Barry the casting producer interviewed around 20 people via Skype.

The paper says that included local businessman Jay Tawes, funereal director Mary Beth Bradshaw Pruitt and Bill Butrill owner of a plumbing and heating business.

Don Rush is the News Director and Senior Producer of News and Public Affairs at Delmarva Public Media. An award-winning journalist, Don reports major local issues of the day, from sea level rise, to urban development, to the changing demographics of Delmarva.
