The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is has sent a letter to Governor Martin O’Malley asking him to fight the latest challenge to federal plans to clean up the Chesapeake Bay.
The Baltimore law firm Funk & Bolton has been hired by Dorchester County to get support from rural counties around the state to challenge the federal plans as a group.
The Governor put the foundation’s letter on his blog which called the move a threat to cleanup of the Bay.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that attorney David Funk said his firm is trying to figure out how the local governments will pay for complying with the plan.
The federal plan by the Environmental Protection Agency would put the six-state watershed on “a pollution diet” that would include a reduction of sediment and runoff
