Delaware National Guardsmen Return from Relief Mission in New York

Delaware National Guard

Soldiers from the Delaware National Guard have returned from their relief mission in New York in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Most of the troops came from the Delaware National Guard’s 1049 Transportation Company which is headquartered in Seaford.

Last May they returned from a year long tour in Afghanistan.

The 107 soldiers went to New York with 45 trucks, 3 Humvees and a diesel refueling vehicle.

This comes on the heels of more than 500 Delaware National  Guardsmen who supported the state’s response to Hurricane Sandy.
