Around 520 people are employed at a Dow Chemical factory south of Newark Delaware.
And it is not clear how they and other regional facilities will be impacted by this week’s announcement that Dow will cut around 24-hundred jobs and close around 20 manufacturing facilities.
It’s part of a restructuring to deal with the economic slowdown in Europe.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that the eventual savings from all of the cuts should amount to $2.5 billion.
The reductions come after the company reported a nearly 40 percent decline in net income
