ANNAPOLIS, MD. (AP) - Gov. Martin OMalley will be meeting with student leaders to discuss the importance of investing in higher education.

The governor will play host to students in Annapolis Thursday morning.

OMalley also will be touting recent findings by the College Board. The board says tuition at Maryland in-state, four-year colleges and universities has been brought down from the 8th highest in the nation to the 27th highest.

The states community colleges have the sixth-smallest increase in tuition and fees in the nation.

The governor has made college affordability a priority of his tenure. He instituted a four-year tuition freeze when he came into office in 2007.
