Bank of America is now moving ahead with a plan that would create a major data
processing center at its existing office next to the Christiana Hospital employing 60 to 70 full-time workers.
The banking giant envisions spending $310 million to build and outfit the center, which would be the first in a three-phase development of a parcel that bends from Del. 4 east of Harmony Road around Christiana Hospital.
Bank of America officials this week declined to discuss the plan in any detail. The Wilmington News Journal reports that its general outlines emerged earlier this month when bank officials pressed a request to the state for $10 million to help fund its construction.
