Thrift Inn to Be Demolished in Early November

ireton, biopic

By the end of the first full week in November the Thrift Travel Inn in Salisbury should be gone.

It’s scheduled for destruction by Demolition Services in an agreement with the city’s Neighborhood Services and Code Compliance.

But the date could be altered because of the need for approvals of the state.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Mayor Jim Ireton praised the announcement adding that many area businesses and neighborhoods have already benefits from closure of Inn

Last month the property owned by United Central Bank failed to get a minimum bid of $75-thousand when the property was put up for auction last month.

The Inn was the site of a prostitution and human trafficking ring run by the inn’s managers.
