There will be Gershwin in January as the result of a deal struck between Delaware Symphony Orchestra and the local union.

The agreement was announced Friday.

But it’s terms were not made public.

It’s called "The Classical Series," which is expected to be made up of three concerts.

Each will be performed twice at venues including the Grand Opera House and the Laird Performing Arts Center at the Tatnall School.

DSO General Manager Diana Milburn told WDEL that financial measures have been taken to deal with current economic climate

Glenn Finnan with the American Federation of Musicians says the players are taking a salary cut to help out.

The agreement ends May 31st.

The Orchestra and the union will continue to negotiate a longer-term agreement.
