DOVER, Del. (AP) - A state oversight panel charged with helping promote energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in Delaware is working to get its energy conservation programs back up and running.
Members of the Sustainable Energy Utility oversight board voted Thursday to move forward with three programs, including an incentive program for new home buyers. The program offered rebates of $3,000 to $6,000 for homes upgraded for energy efficiency, water conservation and other features before it expired.
The board also voted to proceed with energy efficiency bond and loan reserve programs but agreed to take a slower, more deliberate approach on restarting a more expensive program involving energy upgrades to existing homes.
Officials note that some of the previous programs were primarily funded with federal stimulus money that is no longer available.
