MILLSBORO, Del. (AP) - An organization that helps disabled people work and socialize has opened a new $1.8 million facility in Sussex County.
The new Chimes center on DuPont Highway in Millsboro replaces an older, leased space in the town. Marty Lampner, the company's CEO, says Chimes currently serves 35 people and will be able to help more than double that number at the new facility.
Irv and Phyllis Levin, whose son Jaime is disabled, gave $100,000 to help build the new Chimes center and it bears their name.
Chimes gives people with disabilities a chance to work, learn skills and make progress toward independent life. It helps 17,000 people in six states and Washington, D.C.
