Fenwick Island Looks To Ban Smoking On The Beach

123rf.com

Fenwick Island is considering banning smoking on the town’s beaches.

Its Environmental Committee chair Marry Langan called smoking the number one polluter of the world’s beaches.

She noted that it has produced unwanted litter and second hand smoke.

Committee member Patti Breger told the Wilmington News Journal that she wants to get a ban in place and put up signs asking that people not smoke.

Meanwhile, committee member Buzz Henifin predicted it would take four to five months to get an ordinance in place.
