Jobless Rates Inch Up For Salisbury and Dover

The unemployment rates for Salisbury and Dover were up in June.

Salisbury’s jobless rate was 9 percent up from 8.4 percent in May.

That’s still below 9.5 percent a year ago.

Statewide, Maryland’s unemployment rate was 7.2 percent up from 6.6 percent a month earlier.

But that was still below the 7.7 percent a year ago.

For Dover June saw an unemployment rate of 7.4 percent up from 6.5 percent in May.

Again the June rate was lower than the 7.8 percent a year ago.

Delaware’s June rate was 6.9 percent up from 6.3 percent a month earlier.
