GOP Hopeful Takes Shot At Governor Markell's Job Investments

Republican Jeff Cragg is taking aim at Delaware Governor Jack Markell’s signature jobs investments in his bid to oust the Democrat this November.

Cragg called the millions offered to Fisker Automotive and Bloom Energy…a heavy weight on the states’ recovery.

He told the Wilmington News Journal…that the investments have not created any new net job growth.

And the Republican gubernatorial hopeful said that Markell had focused too much attention on large businesses.

In Delaware Fisker has accepted around $20 million in state government grants and loans but has put off production of a hybrid sedan at a former General Motors plant near Newport as the car company negotiates for more favorable terms for a federal loan.

Meanwhile, Markell says that these large investments are critical for the long-term restoration of the two industrial sites for Fisker and Bloom Energy.
