Ousted OC City Manager Considers Run for Town Council

Ousted Ocean City Manager Dennis Dare is considering a run for the Town Council in November.

After 20 years the Council voted 4-to-3 to let him go in September despite support from many residents, municipal employees and the three council members.

Dare is still technically on the resort’s payroll until October 31st under a severance package.

The Council recently moved the election date from October to November to coincide with the Presidential election.

Council member Joe Hall told the Salisbury Daily Times that he spoke with City Solicitor Guy Ayres and confirmed that Dare had asked about whether he would be eligible to run for a council seat.

Hall added that he would love to run against Dare.

Four council members are up for re-election.
