Longtime donors and musicians are not happy with the decision by the Delaware Symphony Orchestra board to suspend the 2012-2013 season.
They said the sudden decision could damage the DSO’s fundraising efforts and deprive the community of an important cultural institution.
During an invitation-only end-of-the-year board meeting a number of the donors faulted the board for not recognizing the symphony’s serious financial problems.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that Larry Edelsohn a frequent contributor to the DSO read a statement giving the executive committee of the board an F because of alleged mismanagement and putting the future of the symphony in jeopardy.
And Diana Maxmin who represented 16 longtime donors also read a statement that called on the board members to resign.
