Wicomico County School board President Ron Willey is thinking of leaving his position.
Last week he submitted a letter to Governor Martin O’Malley saying that he would not seek reappointment when his term ends this summer.
But he has told the Salisbury Daily Times that after word of his letter got out he got calls and messages from friends in the education community asking him to stay through the ongoing turbulence in district budgets.
Willey says they have asked him me to reconsider the letter and serve another term adding that he has promised to do so.
He expects to make a final decision by the end of the week.
