Express Medical Transport to Continue for Disabled Residents in Ocean City

The public express transport shuttle for the disabled in Ocean City will continue.

The resort’s Town Council voted unanimously to appoint Council member Brent Ashley who volunteered to take over – what’s called – MEDTRN.

It takes disabled patients to medical appointments in the Berlin area.

He replaces Bob Melvin who died at the age of 94 in February after promising to takeover if no one stepped up to the job.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Brian Connor, superintendent of transportation for the town, said around 14-to-16 people use the shuttle on a regular basis.

He said that the shuttle is important because it’s a matter of convenience.
