The Delaware State legislature will weigh in on the future of Charter schools in the First State.
The interest comes after public controversy over the expansion of the Newark Charter School.
Last week the state Board of Education approved allowing the facility to add high school grades and enroll more students in grades K though 8.
But critics expressed concern that the educational institution had some aspects that discourage minority and low-income students from enrolling.
Meanwhile, Campus Community Charter school got approval of its application but the Board of Education was told not to consider its students low test scores.
The House Education Committee has set a hearing for May first to look at whether changes were needed in state law to deal with these kinds of issues.
