Boom Shakes Salisbury and Surrounding Area

A loud boom shook Salisbury yesterday afternoon.

Locals heard the sound at around 3:30 p.m.

They quickly turned to social media and found that posts from Seaford and Hurlock down to Princess Anne and Snow Hill.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the Naval Air Station Patuxent River said they did not have any aircraft in the area.

None it added was authorized to go supersonic.

NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility told the paper that they had heard nothing in Virginia.

A jet stream was seen right after the noise by a local resident.
