Chesapeake Music presents The Renaissance Quartet with Pianist Zhu Wang and Violist Catherine Cho
The Renaissance Quartet with pianist Zhu Wang and violist Catherine Cho will open the Chesapeake Music Interlude Series.
Founded in 2021 by violinists Randall Goosby and Jeremiah Blacklow, violist Jameel Martin, and cellist Daniel Hass, the New York City-based quartet was formed through their decade-long friendship at The Perlman Music Program and The Juilliard School. Joining them onstage, pianist Zhu Wang was awarded First Prize Winner at 2020 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions and 2024 New Orleans International Piano Competition.
The evening’s concert will also feature violist Catherine Cho, who serves as one of Chesapeake Music’s two co-Artistic Directors and is recognized for her remarkable virtuosity, combining technical mastery of her instrument with an extraordinary and distinctive musicality.
The Renaissance Quartet is dedicated to representing and articulating an inclusive vision of the future of classical music, which sees a culture of music wherein all are welcomed and celebrated.
