New Method to Track "Dead Zones" in Bay

NASA

A new system for tracking oxygen deprived areas known as "dead zones" have been a major problem for wildlife in the Chesapeake Bay. Now, a new method that will provide a more accurate picture of where they are located will be deployed in the coming years. In our weekly series with the Bay Journal Delmarva Public Media's Don Rush talks with staff writer Jeremy Cox about the advantages of the new system over the older methods that are being used now.

Don Rush is the News Director and Senior Producer of News and Public Affairs at Delmarva Public Media. An award-winning journalist, Don reports major local issues of the day, from sea level rise, to urban development, to the changing demographics of Delmarva.
