The 38th annual Point-to-Point event in Brandywine Valley was held on Sunday.
But it was missing George “Frolic” Weymouth who had led the procession since its inception.
He died at the age of 79 two weeks ago.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that there was a tribute to him yesterday before the parade of carriages began.
Point-to-Point Race Director Jill Abbot told the paper that Frolic had been the mainstay of the event with many attendees looking forward to seeing him.
There was even a video tribute to the man and his 1904 Brewster & Company Park Drag coach with four horses led the parade.
