Tom Gordon Wants His Old Job Back as New Castle County Executive

Former New Castle County Executive Tom Gordon is checking out his old office for another run.

He left after eight years during which there was a federal indictment for racketeering mail fraud and misuse of county resources for personal and political gain.

Prosecutors dropped those charges in 2007.

Gordon says he has been talking with unions, churches and community groups whose support he would need to win a primary as well as trying to figure out how much money he would need to raise for the race.

This would be the second time he has tried to get his old job back.

He lost his first bid to Chris Coons who went on to the US Senate in 2010.

Gordon says among the reasons he is looking at running again is because of the land use policies of incumbent Paul Clark.

The Wilmington News Journal reports…that Gordon accuses Clark and his wife Pam Scott who is an attorney of “perverting” the county’s Unified Development Code to help developers such as Stoltz Real Estate Partners to get projects approved.
